The developer confirms pausing reality blending and exploring the mixture between realities.
Confirmed by the developer
Hanford Lemoore’s PlayStation Blog introduction explicitly describes blending realities, freezing that blending at any time and exploring the resulting mixture. It also states that some points allow the player to be in multiple realities at once. These are developer statements, rather than merely a media theory.
“Hybrid state” is our short descriptive label for that mixture. It is not presented as a confirmed ability name or a retail menu label.
Why an in-between state changes the problem
A useful route may depend on the combination of configurations, not only on selecting an endpoint. The developer illustrates the trade-off with a blocked doorway that opens in another reality at the cost of a hazard elsewhere.
This confirms the importance of exploring an area across states. It does not establish the precise input scheme, the number of combinations in a particular room or how every object responds to a paused transition.

A bridge and its surrounding space provide landmarks to compare across an environmental change.
What still needs evidence
A playable demonstration is needed to establish the input, range, limits, feedback and persistence of any intermediate state. It also needs to show whether the effect applies to terrain, hazards, movable objects or only a local mechanism.
For a concise source checklist, use confirmed mechanics. For visual questions left open by editing, read trailer observations.
